Urbani Cellar Santa Cruz (formally Bocci’s Cellar) was established 1906. It was home of the Joseph Urbani family. The historic building, built in 1892, was first called Urbani’s, who brought the Italian game of Bocce Ball to Santa Cruz. Urbani Cellar’s walls are adorned with original murals and old black & white photos of the family and friends eating and celebrating the good life. The Urbani family were prominent in the local Italian community, raised their own vegetables and livestock and even made their own wine on the property. This was the only ‘known’ operating speakeasy in Santa Cruz. Today, Urbani Cellar is a fun venue that provides friendly service, libations, and a stage for local and traveling bands to play. We have plenty of outdoor seating, rotating local beers on tap, pool and darts.
